Arsenal will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points when they welcome Everton to The Emirates on Wednesday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side have shocked many people with their performances so far this term and currently sit two points clear of reigning champions Manchester City in second.

The Toffees, meanwhile, became just the second side to beat Arsenal in the league this season when they defeated The Gunners 1-0 at Goodison Park at the start of February.

Regardless of whether or not their title chase proves successful, Arsenal are set to be busy during the upcoming summer transfer window as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a Champions League campaign next term.

Now, it appears that the north London side are interested in a Chelsea star that only joined The Blues last summer.

According to 90min, Arsenal are admirers of Raheem Sterling and could move for him if he becomes available this summer.

The England international worked with Arteta during his time at former club Manchester City, and the Spaniard is said to be keen on a reunion.

Arsenal haven’t featured in the Champions League in six years but look almost certain to qualify for the competition next season, and Arteta is therefore keen to add players with European experience to his squad.

Sterling is a target for Arsenal this summer

Sterling, 28, joined The Blues from City last summer for a fee of £47.5 million, but the forward has struggled during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

So far, the winger has scored six goals and provided three assists in 25 matches across all competitions, although he did miss most of January through injury.

The four-time Premier League winner has also seen his starting spot put under threat following the arrivals of Mykhayo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix.

Despite Arsenal’s supposed interest, Sterling is said to be happy in south west London and isn’t likely to push for a move away from the club this summer.

Sterling boasts a remarkable record in the Premier League, having scored 113 goals and provided 79 assists in 338 games in the competition across spells with Liverpool, City and Chelsea.
