Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Germany international striker Timo Werner, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who currently sit sixth in the English top-flight standings, a huge 27 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, have been linked with a mega money move for the RasenBallsport Leipzig forward this summer.

The 21-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country, has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga side so far this season.

Werner, who joined RB Leipzig back in June 2016 following his reported €10m transfer from Stuttgart, has netted 37 goals in just 61 games overall for the German outfit.

The report suggests The Gunners are the latest Premier League club to register interest in signing the German gem, who is also said to be a target for fellow rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as La Liga outfits Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Werner has rejected a new deal at Leipzig, and is valued at £54m, by transfermarkt.
