Arsenal travel north to face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s side defeated League Two outfit Port Vale 2-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, setting up a fourth round tie against top flight rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gunners have started the new season relatively strongly and currently sit second in the Premier League table, though they could keep up pressure on leaders Liverpool with a win at St. James’ Park.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the North London outfit are eyeing a move for a Serie A star.

According to Tutto Juve via CaughtOffside, Arsenal have joined the race to sign Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz.

The report claims that the Gunners have joined London rivals Chelsea in the race for the Turkey international’s signature, with the Blues having scouted the attacker at a recent match.

Yildiz, 20, joined Juventus’ youth system from Bayern Munich in 2022 and has since progressed into the first team in Turin.

He has now played 89 times for the club across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing 15 assists.

This season he has featured in all five of Juventus’ matches, including four games in the Italian top flight.

While Arsenal are said to be monitoring the attacking midfielder’s situation, it is also claimed that Juventus’ asking price of around £70-85 million for the player could deter the Gunners from making a move to sign him.

Yildiz is currently contracted to Juventus until the end of the 2028/29 season, but the Old Lady could soon face a battle to keep hold of the player if he continues to impress in Serie A.
