Arsenal showed their is vast room for improvement as they were thrashed 4-0 at Liverpool on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side entered the game with optimism having put together a 10-match unbeaten run but they were swept aside by Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The Spaniard, who will be looking for a positive response against Newcastle United next weekend, reportedly has his eye on further adding to his squad in January.

According to CalcioMercato, (via the Mirror), the Gunners are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Arthur.

The Brazilian moved to the Italian giants from Barcelona in a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic in June 2020.

Arthur has had to wait patiently for opportunities at Juventus.

However, the 25-year-old has found it difficult to cement a starting spot and has made just six appearances in all competitions this season.

It’s claimed that Arthur, whose limited game time this term includes just 143 minutes of Serie A football, is available for £29.5million.

However, it’s reported that they would face competition from fellow Premier League sides Newcastle and Leeds for the midfielder.

Arthur started his career with Gremio before moving to Barcelona, where he made 72 appearances,  in 2018.
