Arsenal could move top of the Premier League table with victory over Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners currently sit third in the top flight standings, but a win over the Bees would move them above league leaders Liverpool, who face second-placed Manchester City on Sunday.

Manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping to see his side secure victory over Brentford, and the Spaniard will undoubtedly be watching events at Anfield on Sunday.

Off the pitch, it has emerged that Arsenal hold an interest in a Serie A star.

According to Calciomercato via TEAMtalk, the North London side are ‘very hot’ on Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee.

The 22-year-old is enjoying a fine season for the Italian club, having scored 11 times in 29 matches across all competitions so far this term.

It is claimed that the Dutchman would cost around £43 million, and he has also attracted significant interest from a number of other clubs across Europe.

Zirkzee is a target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window

Zirkzee joined Bologna from German giants Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, having scored four times in 17 appearances for the club at senior level.

He has since played 50 times for Bologna across all competitions, as well as being capped by the Netherlands at youth level.

Zirkzee’s current contract is set to run until the end of the 2025/26 season, but Bologna may face a battle to keep hold of the player as he continues to attract interest from elsewhere.

Premier League sides Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all said to have shown an interest in the Dutchman, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG look set to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer, and it appears that the French side are searching for a replacement.
