The transfer window for Premier League clubs opens on Wednesday, with clubs at both ends of the table likely to be active in the market.

Arsenal are one of those sides that could be busy in January, with boss Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his squad as he attempts to guide his side to the Premier League title.

Despite finishing second in each of the past two seasons, Arsenal currently find themselves nine points behind leaders Liverpool and will likely need to avoid any more slip-ups if they are to have any chance of lifting the title this time around.

Off the pitch, it has emerged that the North London side are leading two title rivals in the race to sign one of the Bundesliga’s most in-form players.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Arsenal are currently leading Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.

The 25-year-old has been one of the most impressive players in Europe so far this season, scoring 18 goals and providing 12 assists in 24 matches across all competitions.

Marmoush has been in sensational form for Frankfurt this season

He has a combined 21 goals and assists in 15 Bundesliga matches, and his impressive displays have attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

It is claimed that the German side have made attempts to agree a new contract with the player, but their efforts have so far not been well received by Marmoush himself.

The Egyptian has just over two years remaining on his current contract with the Bundesliga side, and his uncertain future has alerted several clubs including Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Marmoush joined Frankfurt from fellow German side Wolfsburg on a free transfer in 2023 and has since played 65 times for the club across all competitions.

He is a versatile attacker capable of playing in a number of roles, including as a striker or on the left flank.
