Arsenal legend David Seaman has urged his former boss, Arsene Wenger to do whatever it takes to get Gunners stars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to sign new deals at the club.

The Emirates hierarchy are angling to tie their star men down to new deals in order to secure their long-term future.

However, Wenger faced a setback when Sanchez, who opened the scoring in the 6-0 routing of Ludogorets on Wednesday, and Ozil, who grabbed his first hat-trick for the club, upped their wage demands.

Speaking to the Irish Independant, former England international Seaman implored his former employers to meet their demands.

“They will have to,” he said. “These two are quality players so you give them what they deserve. If that’s the top wages at Arsenal then so be it.

“If everyone’s getting little rises here and there then it’s okay. I’m not a manager but you’ve got to juggle that.”

The two-time double winner, who made over 400 appearances for the North London club, added; “I remember when I was playing, I was near the top, and it’s a juggling thing,

“You’ve got to make sure that the players that influence the team the most are the players that get paid the most.”
