Premier League leaders Liverpool make the short trip to Manchester to face reigning champions Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds currently boast an eight-point lead over second-placed Arsenal in the top flight table, whilst the Citizens sit fourth having enjoyed a recent resurgence.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot will be desperate to see his side get the better of City and move a step closer to the Premier League title, but City will have other ideas and are likely to provide a stern test for the league leaders.

Off the pitch, it appears that both Liverpool and City are among a number of Premier League clubs to have been offered a La Liga star.

As per TBR Football, the representatives of Barcelona Frenkie De Jong have informed several Premier League sides that the midfielder is likely to be available this summer.

De Jong, 27, joined Barcelona from Dutch side Ajax in 2019 and has since made more than 230 appearances for the Catalan giants across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 22 assists.

De Jong has been offered to a number of top Premier League clubs

The Dutchman has fallen somewhat out of favour over the past couple of seasons, slipping below the likes of Pedri and Ravi in the midfield pecking order.

That has prompted uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, and the player’s representatives have therefore starter sounding out potential interest in him.

The report claims that Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been informed of the midfielder’s situation, with a view to potential agreeing a deal at the end of the current campaign.

De Jong is under contract with Barcelona until the end of next season and, although the Spanish side insist he remains an important part of their squad, he could depart the club when the transfer window reopens this summer.
