Arsenal ensured they stayed within touching distance of rivals Tottenham Hotspur with a 5-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs had extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points courtesy of a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Friday evening, but Mikel Areta’s side responded in emphatic fashion.

Eddie Nketiah’s first ever Premier League hat-trick set the Gunners on course for victory, before Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu also scored late on.

Arsenal now sit second in the top flight table, two points behind league leaders Tottenham.

Off the pitch, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the future of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, and it appears that the club have now made s surprise decision.

Ramsdale could be sold next summer

According to Football Insider, the North London outfit could decide to sell the Englishman next summer.

Ramsdale has fallen out of favour at The Emirates since the arrival of David Raya from Brentford over the summer, however Arteta has insisted that both ‘keepers are part of his plans.

The England international hasn’t featured in any of Arsenal’s last six league games, though, with Raya seemingly now the club’s first choice.

With that in mind, the report claims that Arsenal could sell Ramsdale next summer with the player unhappy at his current situation.

The 25-year-old joined Arsenal from Sheffield United back in 2021 and was Arteta’s first choice over the past two seasons.

In total he has made 84 appearances across all competitions, but he has played just six times so far this season.

The player himself will be keen to ensure he plays regularly in the coming months in a bid to force his way into the England squad for Euro 2024.

At present, the Englishman is contracted to Arsenal until the summer of 2026.
