Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are set to miss out on the signing of wantaway Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez this summer, with the Spanish giants keen for their star to stay at the club, according to AS, via the International Business Times.

The Premier League trio have been closely monitoring the situation of the Colombia international, who has struggled at the Bernabeu this season after a promising opening campaign, only starting 17 La Liga matches, as well as making three appearances in the Champions League for the team that reached the final by beating Man City in the semi-finals.

That led to rumours that the 24-year-old playmaker was looking for a move away from Spain at the end of the season, but it is understood that manager Zinedine Zidane wants to help the forward find the form that gave him such an impressive debut season following his move from Monaco in 2014, where he scored 17 goals and provided 18 assists.
