Dani Ceballos is in talks with parent club Real Madrid as he aims to end his loan spell with Arsenal, according to reports.

The 23-year-old impressed in his early matches at the Emirates after signing for the club on a season-long loan deal.

However, Carrusel Deportivo report that the midfielder has informed Gunners boss Mikel Arteta that he wishes to cut short his stay in North London.

It’s claimed that Madrid are looking into the possibility of ending the agreement with the view of then moving the playmaker on to another club.

Ceballos is keen to play regular football as he looks to earn a spot in Spain’s squad for this summer’s European Championship.

The ex-Real Betis star picked up a hamstring injury at the start of November, which saw him miss nine Premier League matches.

However, despite being available for selection since Arteta took charge he has yet to feature under his fellow countryman.

Prior to that Ceballos registered one goal and two assists in 16 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal.
