Arsenal are closing in on new deals for French duo Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin as they look to tie down yet more players to new deals, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

25-year-old midfielder, Coquelin, who has begun to form a solid partnership with summer signing Granit Xhaka in the absence of Santi Cazorla, is set to see his current £40,000-a-week wage doubled as he extends his deal through to 2021.

Whilst his compatriot and teammate, Olivier Giroud, is set to put pen-to-paper on a one year extension which will take him through until the end of the 2018/19 season with Arsenal.

Gunners fans are understandably baying for news of new deals for star pair Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, but seeing other players around them penning new contracts with the north London side can only further convince the leading men to follow suit and agree terms.

Having already negotiated a new deal for in-demand full-back Hector Bellerin, Wenger will hope these new deals also convince disgruntled winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign on the dotted line, with the Gunners reportedly ready to put a new contract in front of the former Southampton man.
