Arsenal beat French side Lyon 2-0 on Sunday, in their final pre-season friendly before the start of the new season.

Goals from William Saliba and Gabriel earned Mikel Arteta’s side a comfortable victory, with attention now turning to their Premier League opener against Wolves at The Emirates on Saturday.

The Gunners have finished second, behind Manchester City, in each of the past two Premier League seasons, and Arteta will be desperate to see his side go one better this time around.

With that in mind, it appears that the North London club are plotting an audacious move for a Bundesliga star.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are plotting a move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

It is claimed that the Gunners are hoping to sign the Frenchman on a season-long loan deal and, while Bayern would be willing to accept such an offer, the German side would require an obligation or option-to-buy clause to be included.

Coman has been linked with a surprise loan move to Arsenal

The 28-year-old has been with Bayern for almost a decade now, having initially joined on loan from Italian side Juventus in 2015 before making the move permanent two years later.

He has played more than 290 times for the Bavarian side across all competitions, scoring 63 goals and providing 66 assists.

Remarkably, last season was the first of Coman’s career that he has not won the league title, having won two Ligue 1 titles, two Serie A titles and eight Bundesliga crowns over the previous 12 years.

It is claimed that Arsenal are on the hunt for a new winger and have identified Coman as one of a number of potential targets.

The player himself is said to be open to the prospect of a move to The Emirates, although he would seek assurances over his playing time under Arteta before committing to the move.
