Arsenal will be looking to secure another three points next weekend when they face Everton at Goodison Park.

The Gunners have got the season off to a strong start as they’ve secured 10 points from their first four Premier League games.

Goals from Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Gabriel Jesus helped the North Londoners to come from behind and beat Manchester United at The Emirates last time out.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be determined to win the Premier League title this term after being narrowly beaten to the trophy by Manchester City in the last campaign.

Arsenal outfit currently sit in fifth place and remain two points behind the Sky Blues, who have won all four of their opening fixtures.

If they are to have a chance of securing the top spot this season, the Gunners will need their key players to perform at the highest level over the course of the campaign.

With that in mind, it seems that Arsenal are focused on securing the long-term future of one of their most creative players.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are planning to continue talks with Martin Odegaard over a new long-term deal.

Arsenal are planning to extend Odegaard’s contract beyond 2025

The report claims that Odegaard could be the next top player at Arsenal to sign a new contract.

Odegaard, 24, has featured in 110 games for the North Londoners since joining the club in 2021 from Real Madrid in a deal initially worth around £30m.

The Norway international played a crucial role in Arsenal’s campaign last term, scoring 15 goals and recording eight assists in 37 Premier League games for the Gunners.

It appears the Norwegian will play a pivotal role again in Arteta’s side this term, having scored two goals in four appearances so far.

The Gunners captain is contracted to the North Londoners until 2025, but Arsenal will want the midfielder to stay at the club for years to come.
