Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is closing in on a loan move to Fenerbahce, according to reports.

The 31-year-old has found himself in and out the starting XI since Arsene Wenger left the club in the summer of 2018.

However, if Turkish newspaper Fotomac (via the Sun) is to be believed, the 2014 World Cup winner is on the verge of sealing a switch away from North London.

Ozil has made 11 appearances for Arsenal this season.

It’s claimed Ozil, who is Arsenal’s highest-paid player on £350,000 per week, will move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce until the end of the season.

Earlier this week, the playmaker caused a stir when he criticised China’s treatment of Uighur Muslims on Instagram.

Despite Arsenal distancing themselves from their star’s view, it resulted in China refusing to air the Gunners’ match against Manchester City on Sunday.

Ozil signed for the North London side from Real Madrid in 2013 and has won three FA Cups in that time.
