Arsenal are reportedly ready to stump up the £13m needed to sign Spain forward Nolito.
The Premier League giants, who currently sit two points behind league leaders Leicester City after their opening 16 fixtures, have been scouting the Celta Vigo star since his impressive start to the 2015-16 campaign.
The 29-year-old, who has five international caps for his country, has scored eight and assisted five goals in 15 league appearances for the La Liga outfit so far this season.
With the Gunners firm title contenders this term; boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on recruiting an attacking player in the New Year to boost their silverware hopes, with the former FC Barcelona and Benfica ace top of his wish list due to his bargain £13m buy-out clause in his current contract.
However; Arsenal may face stiff competition from Barca, who want to re-sign Nolito after he left the Nou Camp back in 2011, plus Spanish rivals Real Madrid have also been linked with a January move for the left winger.
