Manchester United return to Premier League action on Thursday when they face Wolves at Molineux.

The Red Devils overcame a brief scare against League Two side Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round last time out, eventually defeating the Welsh side 4-2 to progress to the next round.

Forward Marcus Rashford missed the visit to Wales, with manager Erik ten Hag revealing that he had dealt with an ‘internal disciplinary matter’ with the Englishman, after he was pictured on a night out shortly before missing training last week.

The academy graduate could return to the side against Wolves, but in the meantime it appears that one of United’s biggest rivals is plotting a move for the player.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are plotting a shock move for the England international.

The report claims that the Gunners are keeping an eye on the player’s situation and could make a move to sign him when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Rashford has attracted interest from rivals Arsenal

Rashford made an instant impact on his senior debut for United, scoring twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League back in 2016.

He has now scored 127 goals in 385 matches for the club across all competitions, as well as providing 74 assists.

After netting a career-best 30 goals last term, Rashford has failed to recreate that form so far this season, scoring just four times until now.

Despite his importance to Ten Hag’s side, this is the second time in three months that Rashford has been disciplined by the Dutchman, after he was previously pictured partying just hours after the Red Devils were beaten 3-0 by rivals Manchester City.

The report claims that Arsenal had set aside £45 million in an attempt to sign the player back in 2022, but United would now demand a fee in excess of that amount.

Rashford’s current contract is set to run until 2028.
