Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be looking to bolster his squad this summer in an effort to once again compete for the Premier League title next term.

Last season, the Gunners topped the Premier League table for several months before being leapfrogged by eventual champions Manchester City.

Arteta did guide his side to fourth spot and a place in the Champions League, though, and the Spaniard will be keen to add to his squad ahead of their European exploits.

In order to add to their squad, though, the north London outfit will need to let some players leave and it appears that they are now willing to sell one of their most prolific forwards.

As per Football Insider, the Gunners are willing to sell striker Folarin Balogun this summer despite the youngster’s prolific campaign last term.

Balogun, 21, spent last season on loan with French side Stade Reims and scored 22 goals in 39 matches across all competitions for the club.

Despite scoring prolifically in the French top flight, Balogun could be allowed to leave Arsenal this summer if an offer of £35 million is made, the report claims.

Balogun is a product of the youth academy at Arsenal and, having made his senior debut for the club in 2020, the striker has now played 10 times for the club, scoring twice and providing one assist.

The attacker has previously spent time on loan with Championship side Middlesbrough, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 21 matches across all competitions.

The report claims that Arsenal believe selling Balogun will allow them to pursue their own transfer targets this summer.

Last year the Gunners signed striker Gabriel Jesus from rivals Manchester City, but the Brazil international scored just 11 goals in 33 matches across all competitions as injuries hampered his season.
