They say the problem with having good people is that other people will want to come and take them away.

Arsenal have been a club which has experienced this year after year.

Whether it was the Manchester clubs coming in for Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri, or Barcelona coming for Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas, they are a team who has unfortunately grown used to others poaching their talent.

Fortunately for the Gunners they have not had to part with many of their big names recently.

Aside from Alexis Sanchez departing the Emirates in 2018 for Manchester United, which also saw Red Devil’s midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan move the other way, Mikel Arteta’s side have been able to retain their stars and only move on select individuals.

However, they seem to have a new battle on their hands as, according to the Football Insider, Aston Villa are set to return to Arsenal to launch a third bid for young midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.

Smith-Rowe scored seven goals and seven assists in all competitions this season

The Villans have already had bids of £25 million and £30 million rejected, but they are far from giving up their pursuit for the star known affectionately as the ‘Croydon De Bruyne’.

Dean Smith’s side have already been active in the transfer market this summer, as they broke their club record to sign Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City for £33 million just before the Euros.

They are in the process of building a strong squad which could compete for Europe and grow upon their 11th placed finish last season.

Could Smith-Rowe be the final piece of the puzzle to send Villa on some European road trips?
