Arsenal are reportedly ready to fight future Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for the signing of Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, according to The Sun on Sunday.

With both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini set to leave the Emirates in the summer, and Santi Cazorla another year older, Arsene Wenger is keen to sign a defensive midfielder in the summer, and is a long-term admirer of the 26-year-old, who can also play in central defence.

But incoming Man City boss Guardiola is also interested in the Poland international, as he looks for a potential replacement for Yaya Toure, who looks set to exit the Etihad in the summer.

But the English duo aren’t the only teams interested in Krychowiak, with Real Madrid and Juventus among the other clubs keeping a close on the midfielder, who is rated at around £25 million after making more than 75 appearances for Sevilla in the last two 18 months.
