Arsenal travel to Italy to face Inter Milan in the Champions League group phase on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side have started the group phase with two wins and a draw and are yet to concede a goal in the competition so far, but their domestic form of late may concern the Spaniard.

After being beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth on the south coast a fortnight ago, the Gunners slumped to a 1-0 loss against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

That result means Arsenal have won just five of their opening ten games of the Premier League season, and they already sit seven points behind leaders Liverpool.

Off the pitch, it appears that Arsenal could now be set to battle it out against Liverpool in the race to sign a Bundesliga star.

As per CaughtOffside, the North London side are preparing an offer for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson.

Larsson is a target for Arsenal

The 20-year-old has been in fine form for Frankfurt so far this season, featuring in all nine of their Bundesliga games, and his displays have attracted interest from the Gunners.

It is claimed that Arsenal are preparing to test Frankfurt’s resolve with an offer of around £33 million for the youngster, who joined his current club from Swedish side Malmo last summer.

As well as Arsenal, fellow Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the midfielder, who has played six times for Sweden at senior level.

Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also credited with an interest in the player, who has made more than 50 appearances for his current side across all competitions.

Larsson’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but Arsenal could attempt to prise him away from Germany during the upcoming January transfer window.
