Arsenal will hope to return to winning ways when they face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a damaging 2-0 defeat against London rivals West Ham United last time out, missing out on the chance to return to the top of the Premier League table.

However, with league leaders Liverpool not playing until Monday, the Gunners can return to top spot – temporarily at least – with victory over the Cottagers on Sunday.

In the meantime, it appears that the North London outfit have rejected interest in one of their attackers.

As per The Daily Mail, Arsenal have rejected an approach from Crystal Palace for striker Eddie Nketiah.

The 24-year-old is a product of the Gunners’ youth system but has failed to ever establish himself as the club’s first choice striker.

Nketiah has attracted interest from Crystal Palace

In total the Englishman has made 156 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring 38 goals and providing nine assists.

So far this season, the striker has scored six goals in 25 games, but he has failed to move ahead of Gabriel Jesus as Arteta’s first choice centre-forward.

The report claims that Arsenal have made it clear that Nketiah isn’t for sale in January, forcing Palace to look elsewhere as they search for a new striker.

Nketiah’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2027, which puts Arsenal under very little pressure to sell the player.

It is also claimed, though, that the likelihood of Arsenal allowing Nketiah to leave next month chiefly depends on whether or not they can sign a striker beforehand.

Earlier this year, the forward was handed his first senior England cap, making his debut as a substitute during a 1-0 win over Australia.
