Arsenal continued their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season with a 1-1 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Striker Kai Havertz put the hosts ahead at The Emirates before half-time, but the game opened up after Declan Rice was sent off shortly after the break for picking up a second yellow card.

Joao Pedro then drew the Seagulls level, but neither side could find a winner and the points were therefore shared.

Arsenal’s deadline day signing, Raheem Sterling, wasn’t involved in the game after being registered too late, but the Chelsea loanee will be hopeful of making his Gunners debut after the international break.

In the meantime, the North London outfit have reportedly rejected an offer for another of their wingers.

According to Fabzirio Romano, the Gunners have rejected an offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad for Leandro Trossard.

The Pro League outfit are said to have lodged a bid of around £30 million for the Belgian, but Arsenal perceive him as a crucial part of Arteta’s squad and therefore not for sale.

Trossard, 29, joined Arsenal from Brighton in January last year and has since played more than 70 times for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists.

He is contracted to the North London outfit until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but Al Ittihad had hoped to sign him before the Saudi transfer window shuts.

Despite only starting 18 Premier League games for Arteta’s side last term, Romano claims that Trossard is still considered an important part of the Spaniard’s project at The Emirates and is therefore a player that those in charge of the club are keen to keep hold of.
