Arsenal have reportedly had a £10.25m rejected for Nigeria striker Umar Sadiq, according to La Repubblica (via the Daily Star).

The Premier League title contenders, who welcome Watford to the Emirates Stadium in their FA Cup quarter-final clash on Sunday afternoon, are interested in snapping up the AS Roma forward this summer following his impressive emergence into their first-team plans.

The 19-year-old, who is currently on loan at the Italian top-flight outfit from Serie B side Spezia Calcio, has scored two league goals in six Serie A appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s side so far this season.

Sadiq, who has bagged five goals and provided three assists in nine UEFA Youth League games this term, is valued more around the £11.8m mark after the Gunners’ initial approach was turned down for the youngster.

Arsene Wenger’s side currently sit third in the Premier League, eight points adrift of leaders Leicester City and five behind North London rivals Tottenham.
