After three horrific defeats in his first three matches of the season, Mikel Arteta could not have been happier to see his Arsenal side grind out two 1-0 victories.

The Gunners have put together consecutive wins for the first time this season, having grounded out 1-0 victories at home to Norwich City and away to Burnley.

While the performances were far from mesmerising, Arteta must have taken great comfort in their strong defending.

They were bullied by Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku; therefore, Arsenal’s defending against a very physical Burnley side would have been particularly pleasing.

The North Londoners are currently in the process of evolution after an expensive summer of spending; however, Arsenal could be set to respond to the spending by selling former No.1 goalkeeper Bernd Leno, according to reports from Eurosport.

Bernd Leno appears to have lost his place to new signing Aaron Ramsdale.

Leno has been pivotal to Arsenal in recent years, keeping them in many tight contests with some top quality saves.

However, for every top performance has often been a damaging mistake which has seen Arsenal on the end of some preventable defeats.

As part of their £150m transfer spend, was the £25m signing of Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The Englishman has started Arsenal’s last two matches which have yielded two clean sheets.

It was believed he was brought in to be a future starter; however, he already appears to be the new first choice shot-stopper.

And with Leno hoping to keep his place in Germany’s squad to next season’s World Cup, it is believed he could be willing to leave the club.

It is even believed the former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper could be on his way out as early as the January transfer window.
