With just ten matches remaining, Arsenal find themselves with a comfortable eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Although reigning champions Manchester City do have a game-in-hand on their rivals, Mikel Arteta’s side will fancy their chances of maintaining their advantage and lifting the trophy for the first time in two decades.

The signings of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko last summer appear to have worked wonders for The Gunners, who finished fifth last term.

January arrival Jorginho has also impressed but, despite that, it appears that Arteta is still keen to add a midfielder to his ranks this summer.

According to Football Transfers, The Gunners are preparing to make another move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The report claims that the league leaders will prioritise a move for the Ecuador international this summer, having missed out on him during the January transfer window.

Caicedo could once again be the subject of interest from Arsenal

Caicedo, 21, has been in fine form for The Seagulls over the past year.

The midfielder initially joined Brighton from Independiente del Valle back in January 2021, before being sent on loan to Belgian side Beerschot VA that summer.

He returned to The Amex in January last year, and has since made 39 appearances for the south coast side, establishing himself as one of the best players outside of the Premier League’s ‘top six’.

In January, Arsenal reportedly had at least two offers for Caicedo rejected, and The Gunners have decided to once again prioritise a move for him following Martin Zubimendi’s decision to commit his future to current club Real Sociedad.

Despite Arsenal’s interest, Caicedo did sign a new long-term deal with Brighton in February, keeping him at the club until 2027.

While that new contract may have increased the player’s price tag, it appears that the Premier League leaders haven’t been deterred and are set to once again attempt to land the midfielder.
