Arsenal cruised to a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of goals from Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey.

Mikel Arteta’s side have finished second in the Premier League twice in a row, and the Spaniard will be desperate to go one better this time around and get the better of rivals Manchester City.

The Gunners have won their first two matches, and their victory over the Villans has laid down a marker for title rivals City and Liverpool.

Off the pitch, though, one of the club’s attackers appears to be edging closer to a move away from The Emirates.

According to Fabrizio Romano, striker Eddie Nketiah has agreed personal terms with London rivals Crystal Palace.

Nketiah has scored 38 times for Arsenal

The Englishman, who has been capped once by his country, has fallen behind the likes of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at The Emirates.

Nketiah, 25, is a graduate of Arsenal’s youth academy but has failed to ever force himself into the starting line-up over a prolonged period of time.

In total he has played 168 times for the club across all competitions, scoring 38 times and providing seven assists.

Romano claims that the two clubs involved are getting closer to reaching an agreement for the transfer, although a deal has not yet been finalised.

He claims that an agreement has been reached between the Eagles and the player’s representatives over his salary, with documents being finalised.
