After finishing his final few years of youth football with the club before breaking into Arsenal’s first team in 2013, right-back Hector Bellerin is part of the Gunners’ furniture.

With almost 200 Premier League appearances and many more in all competitions, Bellerin has won three FA Cups during his time in North London – a time that could be coming to an end, though.

Spanish publication ABC de Sevilla are reporting that Real Betis have identified right-back as a key position to bolster the squad and in-and-out international Hector Bellerin is the one they want.

The 26-year-old is under contract at Arsenal until 2023 but is said to be keen on starting a new chapter in his career, while the report also details that his father actually supports Betis – perhaps making it an appealing option.

Hector Bellerin did feature in well over half of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season (25)

It also states that Los Verdiblancos have ‘already contacted’ both the defender’s agent and the Gunners, to find out conditions for a transfer, although they’d prefer to take him on a loan deal.

Bellerin’s high wages do represent a stumbling block for any kind of deal, reportedly earning over £100,000 a week with the Gunners.

Betis have had Barcelona full-back Emerson on loan for a couple of seasons but he will be returning to his parent club at last, hence their search to find a direct replacement.

Last year, Bellerin was linked to Paris Saint-Germain but persuaded to stay by Mikel Arteta, before falling out of the Spaniard’s favour still, while links of a move to to the French giants resurfaced during the season.

Despite Arsenal having a wholly disappointing season, in which they failed to qualify even for the Europa Conference League for better or worse, could Bellerin be one of the first of their former stars that heads out the exit door?
