Defender Hector Bellerin is the “right-back of the future”, according to Arsenal team-mate Santi Cazorla, from IBTimes UK.

The 21-year-old, who has nine international caps for Spain, has provided one assist in 10 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season.

Bellerin, who joined the Premier League outfit from defending La Liga champions Barcelona back in 2011, is understood to be a target for top-flight rivals Manchester City and his former Spanish club ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

Amid recent speculation; Arsenal midfielder, Cazorla, told the report that losing the full-back would be a mistake, labelling his team-mate the “right-back of the future”.

He said, “We’ll see [what happens with Hector]. It is clear that Hector is the right-back of the future.

“You could see in the victory over Swansea [City] how good he is. He was all over the place and never stopped running.

“For Arsenal it would be a mistake to let him go. It is obvious that many teams want him. There has been talk about Manchester City and Barcelona.

“He is a player with great potential and I am sure he will also be a key part of the future of the Spanish national team.”
