Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Premier League rivals Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta’s side took the lead early on, but the Cherries battled back to earn a draw, although the Gunners emerged victorious after a penalty shootout.

Having finished as runners-up in the Premier League in each of the past two seasons, Arteta will be desperate to see his side go one better during the upcoming campaign.

The North London outfit have been relatively quiet during the transfer window so far, but it appears that one of their defenders could soon be on his way out of The Emirates.

According to Polish outlet Meczyki via the Mirror, full-back Jakub Kiwior is ready to leave the club as Arsenal finalise a move for Riccardo Calafiori.

Kiwior looks set to leave Arsenal this summer

The Italian defender has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal all summer, and the report suggests he is now close to a £42 million switch.

With that in mind, Poland international Kiwior is keen to depart the club in search of regular football.

The 24-year-old joined the Gunners from Italian outfit Spezia in January last year, and has since played a bit-part role for Arteta’s side.

He has played 38 times for the London side across all competitions, but the report suggests that the player himself is now ready to leave the club.

It is claimed that Kiwior has several admirers in Italy, with Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan having all shown interest in the past.

Bologna, who Calafiori is departing to join Arsenal, also enquired about the possibility of a swap deal involving the two defenders, according to the report.
