Arsenal will be looking to make a positive start to their first Champions League campaign since the 2016/17 season when they play PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.

The Gunners will not have much time to rest after that match as they will face fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium just four days later.

Arsenal have made a great start to the season, earning 10 points from four Premier League games, including a 3-1 win against Manchester United last time out.

Mikel Arteta’s side will have their eyes firmly set on the league title this season after narrowly missing out last term.

However, the North Londoners’ hunt for glory could depend on whether or not their key players stay fit.

Summer signing Jurrien Timber suffered an ACL injury in his first league game for the club, which has likely ended his season already.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Bukayo Saka picked up knocks on international duty but are expected to return action straight away.

However, Thomas Partey sustained a groin injury that will keep him sidelined until October.

Partey has struggled with injuries so far this season

It now appears this injury could influence the midfielder’s future at the club.

According to Football Insider, Partey could leave the club if Arteta does not reinstate him into the starting XI when he returns from injury.

The report claims that the Ghanian is wary of his role in North London changing and could leave the club in January if he feels like he’s fallen out of favour.

Partey, 30, joined the Gunners in October 2020 from Atletico Madrid after featuring in 188 games for the Spanish giants.

Since signing for the North London outfit, Partey has made 103 appearances for the club and has often played in midfield.

However, since the signing of Declan Rice this summer, the midfielder was converted to a right-back role before he suffered his groin injury.
