Arsenal have made good use of Manchester City’s extensive squad depth this summer, signing two players from their Premier League rivals.

Mikel Arteta has so far landed both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from the Premier League champions, but it appears that they may not be quite so keen to return the favour.

According to The Daily Mail, the Gunners will soon offer Bukayo Saka an improved contract in an effort to deter interest from the Citizens.

The report claims that the Englishman will be offered a new deal that will more than double his £70,000-per-week wages.

Saka could become one of Arsenal’s highest earners

Saka has been one of Arsenal’s standout performers over the past two seasons, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists last term as they narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification.

It is claimed that the 20-year-old is keen to play in Europe’s top club competition, but Arteta is hopeful of being able to persuade the forward to stay put in north London.

The Spaniard is optimistic that the club’s new signings will convince the England international to stay.

Saka’s current deal expires in less than two years, but the terms offered to him in his new deal would make him one of the club’s highest earners.
