Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title were dealt a blow on Thursday as they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham United at The Emirates.

Goals from Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos earned the Hammers a famous win in North London, inflicting just a third league defeat of the season on Arsenal.

The loss leaves the Gunners second in the table, two points behind current leaders Liverpool.

Manager Mikel Arteta will likely be keen to bolster his squad during the January transfer window, but the Gunners could also face a battle to keep hold of one of their stars.

According to CBS Sports, winger Reiss Nelson has attracted interest from elsewhere and could be the subject of offers next month.

Nelson has attracted interest from elsewhere but is likely to stay put at The Emirates

The report claims that the 24-year-old has attracted interest from fellow Premier League side Wolves, as well as La Liga giants Sevilla.

Nelson is a product of Arsenal’s youth academy but has primarily played a bit-part role for the Gunners since breaking into the first team.

The Englishman has made 81 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists.

The winger –  who has previously spent time on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord and German club Hoffenheim – has continued to struggle for regular game time this season, starting just three games across all competitions.

Both Wolves and Sevilla have shown an interest in signing Nelson on loan next month but, despite interest from elsewhere, the report claims that Nelson himself is keen to stay put in the capital and fight for his place in Arteta’s side.

Nelson’s versatility could appeal to Arteta during the second half of the season, with the former England Under-21 international able to play on either flank.
