Manchester City have been linked with trying to swap England international Raheem Sterling for Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez again, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who defeated West Brom 2-1 at The Hawthorns on Wednesday night in the League Cup, were reportedly ready to offload the winger during the previous summer transfer window as part of a deal to lure Arsenal star Sanchez to the Etihad Stadium late last month.

The 22-year-old, who has 34 international caps for his country, has scored three goals in six outings for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this term.

Sterling, who joined City back in July 2015 following his move from Premier League rivals Liverpool in a deal worth up to £49m, has netted 24 times in 100 appearances in all competitions for the joint-league leaders.

Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez.

However, the report suggests Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the Three Lions forward and wants the winger at the Emirates Stadium, should Sanchez move in the opposite direction.
