Arsenal moved a step closer to the Champions League knockout stages with a 2-0 win over Spanish side Sevilla on Wednesday.

Goals from Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka earned Mikel Arteta’s side an important victory, leaving them top of Group B.

Victory over French side Lens in their next European game will ensure progression through to the knockout stage, but next up for the Gunners in the Premier League is a game against struggling Burnley on Saturday.

Ahead of the game, it appears that Arteta has been a dealt a blow in relation to one of his transfer targets.

According to 90min, Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze has agreed a new contract with the Eagles.

Eze has reportedly agreed a new contract at Selhurst Park

The report claims that the 25-year-old has agreed a long-term extension to his current deal, which is set to run until 2025.

He is believed to be a target for both Arsenal and Manchester United, but both clubs look set to miss out on signing him anytime soon.

Eze joined Palace from Championship side Queen’s Park Rangers back in 2020 and has since made 103 appearances across all competitions.

He has scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists, attracting interest from both Arsenal and United.

So far this season the attacker has made ten appearances across all competitions, however he did miss three games due to injury.

Upon his return against Burnley on Saturday, Eze provided an assist as the Eagle beat Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor.

Despite clubs being interested in signing him, it appears that the Englishman has decided to commit his future to the Eagles.

The winger was handed his senior international debut for England in June this year, during a 4-0 Euro 2024 qualifying win over Malta.
