Arsenal took a huge step towards the Premier League title with victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard earned the Gunners a 3-0 victory at The Amex, and they remain top after Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to see his side continue their momentum into the final weeks of the season, having finished as runners-up last term.

In the meantime, it appears that one of Arsenal’s transfer targets is likely to leave his current club this summer.

As per Football Insider, Everton midfielder Amadou Onana is likely to depart Goodison Park.

The report claims that the Toffees will demand a fee in the region of £50-60 million for the central midfielder, who has been a rare positive for Sean Dyche’s side this term.

Having flirted with relegation in each of the past two Premier League campaigns, Everton are once again involved in the battle at the bottom and could still be docked points for breaching the division’s profit and sustainability rules.

Onana has been one of Everton’s most impressive players this season

Onana, 22, joined the Merseyside club from French club Lille in the summer of 2022, and has since made 66 appearances for his current side across all competitions.

It is also claimed that Everton’s asking price for the Belgian could depend on when they receive offers for the player, as they are in need of income in order to balance their books.

The club posted losses of more than £89 million for the 2022/23 campaign, and could therefore accept an offer slightly below their valuation for Onana.

The midfielder, who cost Everton around £33.5 million when he arrived from France, was a target for Arsenal during the recent January transfer window but a move never materialised.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Gunners retain an interest in the Belgium international.
