Arsenal are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Germany international Mesut Ozil next summer, according to The Telegraph.
The Premier League side, who currently sit second in the English top-flight table following their 5-1 thrashing of West Ham United at the London Stadium at the weekend, could choose to offload the central midfielder if he does not lower his wage demands at the North London outfit.
The 28-year-old, who has 83 international caps for his country, has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 19 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season.
Ozil, who remains the club’s record buy following his reported £42.5m switch from La Liga giants Real Madrid back in September 2013, has 18 months remaining on his current deal with Arsenal.
However, the German is understood to be demanding a pay rise, up to £384,000-a-week to be specific, if he is to put pen to paper on a contract extension under manager Arsene Wenger.
Ozil is already Arsenal’s highest paid player on £140,000-a-week and has scored 28 times in 136 games overall for the Gunners.
