Arsenal are reportedly interested in Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

The Premier League giants, who knocked out North London rivals Tottenham out of the League Cup last night, are understood to be willing to stump up £13m for the highly-rated centre-half during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old, who has yet to receive his first senior international cap for Italy, has failed to make a first-team appearance for the Serie A champions since joining the club back in 2013.

Rugani did however spend last term on loan at Empoli, where he scored three goals in 39 games in all competitions.

After Gunners boss Arsene Wenger failed to sign a single outfield player during the summer transfer window, it now seems the Frenchman is willing to splash some cash during the New Year spell on his new defensive target.
