Arsenal are reportedly ready to double Spain international forward’s Alvaro Morata wages in a bid to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer, according to AS (via Gooner Talk).

The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings last term after pipping North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the runners-up spot on the final day of the campaign, have been continually linked with a move for the Real Madrid striker.

The 23-year-old, who has 13 international caps for his country and featured for Spain at EURO 2016 this summer, scored 12 goals and provided a further 12 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for Juventus last season.

Morata, who has recently re-joined Madrid from the Serie A giants after the La Liga outfit activated his £23m buy-out clause, is now set to be offloaded by manager Zinedine Zidane – with the club hoping to make a healthy profit.

The report suggests that the Gunners are ready to more than double the forward’s current wages of £65,000-a-week to £144,000-a-week, although Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be pursuing Morata’s services.
