Arsenal are reportedly ready to discuss a new deal for England international star Jack Wilshere, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Premier League side, who have suffered four defeats in their last six league outings, prior to Wednesday night’s fixture against West Ham United, are set to open contract negotiations with the central midfielder, despite sending him out on loan to AFC Bournemouth for the 2016-17 campaign.
The 25-year-old, who has 34 international caps for the Three Lions, has provided two assists in 24 appearances in all competitions for The Cherries so far this season.
Wilshere, whose current deal at the Emirates Stadium expires in 2018, has netted 12 times in 160 games for The Gunners, but was deemed surplus to requirements under manager Arsene Wenger earlier this term.
However, the report suggests Arsenal are now willing to hold talks over a new contract for the Englishman, especially with the Premier League outfit set to lose star players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this summer.
