Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to get their season back on track when they welcome Aston Villa to North London on Sunday.

The Lilywhites started the season in spectacular form and sat top of the Premier League table after ten games, but defeats against both Chelsea and Wolves have left Spurs in fourth place.

Despite consecutive losses, Ange Postecoglou’s side still sit just two points behind leaders Manchester City, and the Australian will therefore be keen to ensure his side keep the pressure up on those above them.

The Villans will undoubtedly provide a very tough test for Tottenham, though, as they themselves sit just one point behind their opponents in fifth place.

In the meantime, Tottenham could soon face competition from rivals Arsenal in their pursuit of an Eredivisie striker.

Gimenez has attracted interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Spurs

According to TV Play via The Express, the Gunners have joined their North London neighbours in the race to sign Feyenoord star Santiago Gimenez.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for the Dutch side this season – scoring 15 goals in as many games – and his performances have attracted interest from both Tottenham and Chelsea.

Arsenal are now said to have entered the race to sign the forward, though, and Gimenez would join the Gunners if they met his asking price, the report claims.

Feyenoord are currently demanding a fee of £35 million for the Mexican, who joined the club from Cruz Azul last summer.

Since arriving in Rotterdam, Gimenez has scored 38 goals in 60 matches across all competitions, as well as providing six assists.

Arsenal are said to be ‘more than interested’ in the striker, who has been capped 23 times by Mexico at international level, scoring on four occasions.

Gimenez, who has also attracted interest from a number of Italian sides, is currently contracted to the Dutch outfit until the summer of 2027.
