Arsenal are preparing for another huge clash on Sunday as they welcome Manchester United to Old Trafford.

The Gunners currently boast an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table thanks to their 2-0 win over rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side were also helped out by The Red Devils who defeated reigning champions Manchester City 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, allowing Arsenal to extend their lead the following day.

United now sit just a point behind The Citizens, and many people have suggested that Erik ten Hag’s side may also be involved in a title race between now and the end of the season.

The game at The Emirates on Sunday promises to be a thrilling encounter, but in the meantime it appears that The Gunners are looking to bolster their squad.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have enquired about the possibility of signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.

The Frenchman has been impressing in Germany and his performances attracted interest from Newcastle United last summer, but it is Arsenal who have now made contact.

Diaby has impressed in the Bundesliga

Arsenal have been forced to look elsewhere following Chelsea’s last minute hijacking of their move for Mykhaylo Mudryk, but the report claims that the Bundesliga side do not want to sell France international Diaby this month.

During the last transfer window, Leverkusen quoted teams as much as £88.5 million for Diaby, who has been with the club since a move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

In that time, the winger has scored 43 goals and provided 41 assists in 146 games, making him one of the most impressive attackers in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.

This term, the ex-PSG academy star has scored six times in 15 league games.

Arsenal were believed to be in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a move for Mudryk, before Chelsea owner Todd Boehly launched an offer of around £88 million to sign the Ukraine international.

The report also claims that The Gunners have considered a move for ex-Leeds United star Raphinha as they look for alternatives to Mudryk.

The Brazilian joined Barcelona from The Whites over the summer but it has been rumoured that he may be allowed to leave the club already.
