Arsenal have reportedly been told that they will have to pay £60 million if they want to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Telegraph.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of the French forward and last season’s Premier League runners-up have already had a £30 million bid rejected earlier this summer, but the Ligue 1 club are determined to keep the 25-year-old at the club and are understood to have offered him a lucrative new long-term contract.

As part of the new deal, the France international’s valuation will rise from €50 million (£43.8 million) to €70 million (around £60 million), which Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas hopes will scare off potential suitors, and Wenger is already rumoured to have turned his attentions to Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

Lacazette, who was also believed to be interesting Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, West Ham United, has made 230 appearances in all competitions for his current side, scoring 92 goals.

My only advise is Wenger must double his efforts to secure a good defender, clubs where the players will come will be a little bit stubborn but perseverance should be his watch word.Fans are anxious to get new signings. Please Wenger we trust you do it as you did it during the OZIL erai
