Arsenal have announced that France internationals Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin have signed new long-term contracts with the Premier League club.

The Gunners, who currently sit fifth in the English top-flight standings, eight points adrift of league leaders Chelsea after 20 games, have tied the trio down to new deals ahead of Saturday’s visit to struggling Swansea City.

Striker Giroud, 30, has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Defender Koscielny, 31, has netted twice in 25 games for Arsene Wenger’s side this term.

Meanwhile midfielder Coquelin, 25, has featured 22 times for Arsenal in all competitions.

Via the club website, manager Wenger said, “We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term.

“Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he’s so focused every day.

“Olivier has big experience in the game now and has become a more and more complete player since joining us.

“Laurent is of course a key part of our squad and I believe one of the best defenders in the world today. So overall, this is great news for us.”
