Arsenal are reportedly keen on trying to sign Germany youth international forward Philipp Ochs, according to Bild (via the Express).

The Premier League side, who host Liverpool on the opening weekend of the new 2016/17 English top-flight campaign on August 14, have been linked with a summer swoop for the highly-rated TSG Hoffenheim winger.

The 19-year-old, who has featured 10 times for Germany’s Under-19 squad, has provided one assist in 13 first-team appearances for the Bundesliga outfit since making his debut back in August 2015.

Ochs, who is understood to have impressed Arsenal scouts at the Under-19 European Championships after netting a hat-trick against Portugal, is still contracted to Hoffenheim until 2019.

However the report suggests the Gunners are ready to weigh in with a tempting bid following his impressive international displays, with the winger’s father, Arthur Beck, admitting his son has attracted global interest during this transfer window.

“Philipp has attracted attention with his strong performances – not only from the European Championships,” he said.

“But with any speculation, we have never participated, and we will continue not to do so.”
