Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur in a race to sign Red Bull Salzburg’s attacking midfielder Hannes Wolf, according to the Mirror.

However, it’s not just local rivals Spurs who are reportedly after Wolf’s signature, with Southampton and Everton also said to be interested in the 19-year-old.

The Austrian has also been linked with a host of German clubs after establishing himself in Salzburg’s side.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is looking for new recruits.

Instrumental in guiding Salzburg to UEFA Youth League success in 2017, the playmaker scored seven goals in as many games.

Following that, Wolf had his breakthrough season in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2017/18, making an impressive 45 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing a further eight assists.

It was a successful campaign for the teenager as he gained his first cap for his country and helped his club reach the Europa League semi-final.

Unai Emery and Mauricio Pochettino will clearly have competition from top clubs around Europe if they are to convince Wolf to play his football in England.
