Arsenal will be hoping to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table when they face Wolves on Saturday.

The Gunners moved into top spot on Saturday courtesy of a 1-0 win over Brentford, leapfrogging Manchester City who had been held to a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at The Etihad.

A late header by Kai Havertz was enough to earn Mikel Arteta’s side a win over the Bees, who themselves came close to taking the lead in the first half after an error from Aaron Ramsdale.

The Englishman, who was deputising for Brentford loanee David Raya, gave the ball away inside his own penalty area before Declan Rice blocked a shot off the line.

Ramsdale, who has fallen out of favour since Raya’s arrival at the club, faces an extremely uncertain future in North London and the club are expected to allow him to leave next summer, according to 90min.

Ramsdale has fallen out of favour at The Emirates

The 25-year-old joined Arsenal from Sheffield United in 2021 and was the Gunners’ first choice goalkeeper for each of the past two seasons.

In total he has made 86 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, but he fell out of favour shortly after Raya’s arrival on loan from the Bees over the summer.

The report claims that the club are reluctant to sell Ramsdale in January, despite his lack of playing time.

They could let him leave next summer, though, and the England international would likely attract interest from a number of clubs.

Fellow Premier League clubs Chelsea and Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the ‘keeper, who has made just eight appearances so far this season including only five in the Premier League.

Arsenal are expected to activate an option-to-buy clause in Raya’s loan deal that would make his move permanent next summer.
