Arsenal were handed a boost by Crystal Palace on Wednesday as The Eagles held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw.

The result meant The Red Devils missed the opportunity to move to within six points of the league leaders, staying in third place behind The Gunners and Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been in sensational form so far this season, and things could be about to get even better for The Gunners.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are in talks over a permanent move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Leandro Trossard.

The Italian journalist claims that personal terms have already been agreed between the two parties, with Arsenal now preparing an official bid.

Trossard, 28, has been impressive for The Seagulls since joining the club, but he has recently been involved in a fairly public row with manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The Belgium international has been criticised by his boss, who recently admitted that he ‘doesn’t like’ the player’s attitude in training.

Trossard joined Brighton from Gent back in 2019 and has since made more than 120 appearances for the club.

Trossard’s time at Brighton looks to be coming to an end

The midfielder started this season in fine form, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 16 games, but he hasn’t featured so far this year.

Brighton do not want to sell the player, but his contract is set to expire this summer, meaning this month represents the club’s final chance to sell him.

As reported by Sky Sports, the player’s agent has released a statement claiming that Trossard will not sign a new contract with the club.

“Before Leandro left for Qatar, it was Brighton’s intention to extend his contract, this did not happen as parties did not reach an agreement. Leandro has also indicated he is ready for his next step,” the statement said.

Arsenal have been linked with several names so far this month, most notably Mykhaylo Mudryk who looked to be on the way to The Emirates before Chelsea hijacked the deal.

Romano claims that talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Brighton, with a view to completing a deal soon.
