Arsenal are working on a deal for a second Manchester City player, having already completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from the Citizens.

As per The Athletic, the Gunners are interested in signing City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Talks between the two clubs are believed to be ongoing, with Arsenal confident that their rivals will agree to sell the 25-year-old for the right price.

Mikel Arteta had been keen on landing Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, but it now looks like it is Manchester United who will sign the Argentine.

Zinchenko could be on his way to reunite with Jesus in London

The Spaniard was believed to be a huge factor in the Jesus deal, and Arsenal are now hoping that he can persuade the Ukrainian to join his former teammate in the capital.

Arteta worked as current City boss Pep Guardiola’s assistant before taking the Arsenal job, and he and Zinchenko are known to have maintained a strong relationship.

Zinchenko shared the majority of minutes at left-back with Joao Cancelo last term, but the Citizens are now believed to be working on a deal to sign Brighton’s Marc Cucurella, which could mean that the Ukraine international is allowed to depart.

Last season, Zinchenko played 28 games for City across all competitions.
