Arsenal midfielder Daniel Crowley is reportedly set to call an end to his loan spell at Oxford United early, according to the Oxford Mail.

The Premier League side, who currently sit fourth in the English top-flight standings following their 3-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, are understood to be in discussions with the League One outfit about terminating his season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old, who is an England Under-19 international, has scored three goals and provided two assists in 11 appearances in all competitions for the Yellows so far this season.

Crowley, who enjoyed a loan spell with Barnsley last year where he scored one goal in 13 games for the Tykes, will meet his parent club to discuss a way forward ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

Oxford boss Michael Appleton has recently admitted that the central midfielder has been left out of his matchday squads after publicly questioning his professionalism.

When asked whether Crowley’s time with United was over, Appleton told the Oxford Mail, “Probably.

“We are just discussing the best way forward with Arsenal before we can put it to bed.”
